Our practice keeps Eastern Time in Michigan, and for 337 days of the year the United Kingdom runs five hours ahead of it. That one number does most of the scheduling work. Five in the afternoon in London is midday for us, and seven in the evening for you is two in the afternoon here, so British evenings and American middays overlap without either side having to get up at an unreasonable hour. The two countries move their clocks on different dates, so for about four weeks a year the gap narrows to four hours instead. Your start time is always confirmed on your own clock.
