Hudson blends a historic New England-style green, the clock tower on its charming Main Street, and Western Reserve Academy's leafy campus into one of Summit County's most walkable, well-kept towns. That measured, community-minded pace lends itself to slow, mindful living.
Route 8 carries Hudson commuters south toward Akron and north toward the Cleveland suburbs, so evenings often start late. A session held at a distance slots into that gap, leaving daylight for the loop around Hudson Springs Lake. Flower essence blends are mixed to order in Michigan and arrive by mail, no errand attached.
David Hudson left Goshen, Connecticut with a settlement party and reached this land on June 17, 1799. Connecticut had claimed a hundred-and-twenty-mile strip of Ohio since 1632 and sold it in 1795 to the Connecticut Land Company, thirty-five investors who paid $1,200,000 for roughly three million acres, about forty cents an acre. The Western Reserve street plan survives here better than in most places: the Village Green is ringed with old buildings and centered on the 1912 clock tower, which James W. Ellsworth gave to the town. Hudson also has a documented history in the anti-slavery movement and the Underground Railroad.
