Thousand Oaks takes its name from native oak trees that city ordinances still protect, and Tree City USA status recognizes that canopy. Locals call it T.O., and 15,000 acres of preserved land with more than 75 miles of trails wrap around its tidy neighborhoods.
Thousand Oaks has grown into a biotech and corporate hub, home to Amgen, so remote appointments fit naturally into schedules built around work. A distance Reiki attunement asks only for a quiet corner at home in one of this safe, orderly city's neighborhoods.
Thousand Oaks anchors the Conejo Valley in eastern Ventura County, and residents also know it as The Gem of the Valley. The city incorporated in 1964 after growing from a stagecoach stop into the master-planned suburb that routinely ranks among the safest large cities in America. Biotech and corporate work, with Amgen at its center, gives the economy its weight, while neighborhoods stay tidy across a careful grid. Rolling open space surrounds that grid, with 15,000 acres of preserved land and more than 75 miles of trails. Sessions for Thousand Oaks happen entirely at a distance, so the oaks, the trails and the grid stay exactly where they are.
