Forgiveness Healing: For When You Cannot Just Decide to Let It Go
Forgiveness is the most recommended and least explained instruction in the whole of wellness. People are told to forgive constantly, by well meaning friends, by books, and by anyone who has run out of other advice. Almost nobody is told what forgiving would actually consist of, which is why so many people have spent years feeling they are failing at it.
The Misunderstanding at the Center of It
Most people resist forgiveness work because they think it means one of three things. That they have to decide the thing was acceptable. That they have to resume a relationship. Or that they have to tell the person.
None of those are part of it. You are not required to speak to anyone, see anyone, or inform anyone of anything. You are not asked to conclude that what happened was fine, and a session will not ask you to say that it was. Someone can have done something genuinely unforgivable in the ordinary sense of the word and this work is still available to you, because it is not addressed to them.
What is being set down is the thing you are still carrying. That is yours, it lives in you, and it is the only part of the arrangement you have any authority over.
The One Nobody Expects
A large share of people who book this arrive with someone else in mind and find the session is about themselves.
Self directed resentment is the most common thing that surfaces here, and it is usually older and more entrenched than anything aimed outward. People carry decades of quiet contempt for a younger version of themselves who did not know better, or who stayed too long, or who said nothing when they should have spoken. That version of you was working with what they had at the time, and almost nobody extends them the courtesy they would extend a friend in the same position.
If that is where the session goes, it is not a detour.
What Happens in the Hour
It runs like the other sessions here. Fully clothed, lying down, energy work with the attention held on what you came in carrying. There is no confession, no recounting of events in detail, and no requirement to name the person out loud if you would rather not.
The work is not conversational and it is not analytical. If what you want is to understand the situation better, that is a therapist's room and it is a good place to be. This is aimed at the part that is not an understanding problem, the part where you already know everything about the situation and are still carrying it anyway.
The Necessary Line
This is spiritual and emotional work. It is not therapy, not counseling and not medical or mental health care, and it does not replace them. For serious harm, abuse or trauma, working with a qualified professional is the right primary path and this sits alongside it rather than in place of it.
Nobody at Prismatic Flower Essences will suggest that an hour resolves something that took years to build. What an hour can do is loosen it, which is often the thing people cannot do from a standing start on their own.
Related Work
Forgiveness sits close to two other sessions, and people often move between them. Inner child work deals with the version of you the resentment is often aimed at. Ancestral work deals with patterns that arrived before you did, which is frequently what is underneath a grudge that feels older than its cause.

Carrying something you would like to set down?
Forgiveness work is arranged privately. You never have to name the person, and nothing is asked of you beyond showing up.
