Rockwall serves as the seat of the smallest county in Texas, a compact area of just 147 square miles that keeps the whole county close. Life here blends a historic downtown square with lakeside recreation, giving Rockwall an old town center and open water within the same small county.
Rockwall lies about 20 miles northeast of Dallas and ranks among the fastest-growing suburbs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. In a suburb growing this quickly, a distance session reaches your Rockwall home without adding one more errand to a crowded week.
Rockwall takes its name from a naturally jointed underground rock formation that early settlers uncovered while digging wells and mistook for a man-made wall. That formation still carries the nickname Great Wall of Texas, a reminder that the town's identity begins with stone hidden below the ground. Above that buried rock, Rockwall spreads along the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard, where the water shapes much of the town's setting. Rockwallians live with both stories at once, the hidden wall beneath their feet and the lake stretching west from their shore. Prismatic Flower Essences serves this lakeshore town by distance alone, so the connection reaches Rockwallians wherever they sit between the wall and the water.
