Open the Path to Mediumship Reiki

Open the Path to Mediumship Reiki was channeled by Linda Colibert in August 2012 for SpiritLight Reiki, and it is a teaching manual as much as an attunement. Its purpose is to clear the line of communication with people who have crossed over, so that contact becomes possible for someone who feels the presence of a loved one but does not know how to let the message through. Linda Colibert is direct about the first obstacle, which she says is fear: if you are afraid you cannot focus, and your fear blocks the connection.

She describes what contact actually feels like, closer to psychic seeing, hearing, knowing, feeling, smelling or tasting than anything from a film, and she gives practical guidance on speaking to a spirit who has not yet gone to the light as you would speak to a friend rather than issuing commands.

The symbol represents the open lines of communication between the spirit realm at the top and the physical realm at the bottom. The manual sets out a full preparation, a sage or sweetgrass smudge through the house room by room, a sea salt and herb cleansing bath, then a white or light blue candle with incense before the session begins.

How it is used:

Cleanse your space first with a white sage, sweetgrass, or cedar, sage and lavender smudge, working from a corner of each room toward the door of the next and finishing where a window can be opened. Take a cleansing bath with sea salt and herbs such as sage, lavender or basil, then rinse well. Light a white, light blue or yellow candle with incense, put up your shields and call on your guardians, take three deep breaths, and ask the person you wish to reach to come and speak with you.

Print the symbol and write your name in the lower circle and theirs in the upper one if you are working at an altar. When you are finished, thank them and extinguish the candle to close the session.
