Carrier Mills, once called Carrier's Mills and Morrilsville, grew as a mill town and then a coal community after its 1872 founding. Today the village is largely a bedroom community, and the village motto reads Where A Friendly Smile Says Stay Awhile.
Many Carrier Mills residents look to Harrisburg, about seven miles northeast, for work and shopping, so evenings at home carry real value. A distance Reiki attunement fits that bedroom community rhythm, since it can be scheduled around the commute and received from home in Carrier Mills.
Carrier Mills also answers to Catskin, the name behind its annual Catskin Days Fair and Parade, along with The Mills and CMills. One listed nickname is simply With an s on both ends, a playful spelling mnemonic for the village name. The village covers 1.22 square miles, nearly all of it land with just 0.01 square miles of water, at an elevation of 397 feet. It sits in Saline County, Illinois, inside area code 618, with FIPS code 17-11397 and GNIS feature ID 2397561 on record. Whether a neighbor says Catskin or CMills, Rev. Michael Allison can send flower essences to this village and hold Reiki sessions remotely.
