Articles and guides from the Prismatic Flower Essences blog
Gemmotherapy works with extracts made from the buds, young shoots, and rootlets of trees and shrubs, harvested at the very start of a new season of growth. The name comes from the Latin gemma, which means bud. The articles here explain where the practice came from, how bud extracts are made, and how gemmotherapy differs from flower essences, which are often used alongside it. You will also find what to expect from a gemmotherapy session and simple ways to fit an extract into an ordinary week. Gemmotherapy is a complementary wellness practice that supports your self-care. It does not replace care from a doctor or other qualified health professional, so talk with your provider before adding a new extract, especially if you are pregnant or take medication.
Gemmotherapy uses the concentrated energy of young plant buds and shoots to support the body's natural processes. If you are curious about this gentle but powerful practice, this guide will help you understand what it is and how to use it.
