White Tara Reiki was written by Rafael Popov in 2015 and is offered, in his words, for the benefit of all sentient beings. Its ground is Tibetan Buddhism. Tara, known as Drolma in Tibetan and Dolma in Tibetan Buddhism, is a female bodhisattva and a goddess of universal compassion, the female aspect of Avalokitesvara, born in some accounts from his tears as he looked upon the suffering of the world, which formed a lake in which a lotus opened to reveal her.
Tibetans usually count twenty-one manifestations of Tara, each a different colour offering a different virtue, and White Tara, Sitatara in Sanskrit and Dolkar in Tibetan, is the motherly aspect of compassion. Her white colour signifies purity, wisdom and truth.
In iconography she often has seven eyes, the third in her forehead symbolising her vision of the unity of ultimate reality while her other eyes see the relative world, with eyes in her hands and feet as well, showing that all her actions are governed by wisdom and compassion. The author received the empowerment from Garchen Rinpoche and offers his mantra in the manual.
What this attunement is intended to support:
- A practice of compassion grounded in a specific and very old tradition rather than in generalities.
- Serenity and calm, which are the qualities most associated with the peaceful White Tara.
- Mantra practice, using the mantra the author received and reproduces in the manual.
- Connection with Tara through her seed syllable, Tam.
- Sessions for other people, given hands-on or over long distance.
- An intuitive approach to hand placement, which the manual prefers to a fixed sequence.
What you receive:
- The White Tara Reiki manual, written in 2015, with the background on Tara and White Tara.
- The audio attunement, supplied as an mp3 file to be received when you are alone.
- The mantra, the seed syllable, and the instructions for hands-on and distance sessions.
Who this is for:
- Practitioners with Kundalini Reiki Master, which the manual gives as the preferred prerequisite.
- People drawn to Tibetan Buddhist practice who want an energy system rooted in it.
- Anyone who prefers to receive an attunement privately, in their own time, from an audio file.
How it is used:
Decide first how you will play the audio file. Receive it alone, make sure you will not be disturbed for thirty minutes and lie down comfortably. Start the file and listen until it stops, then stay where you are for another fifteen minutes, and the attunement is complete.
Relax for more than ten minutes afterwards and drink plenty of water. For a session, place your hands on the person and say the name of the system, silently or aloud, to start the flow. You do not need to concentrate on keeping it going.
Hold each position for more than three minutes and continue until the energy stops, following any prompting to move your hands elsewhere.
