Quan Yin's Lavender Flame was brought through by Andrea Meyers, who published the healing manual in 2003. The manual tells the origin plainly: she received the empowerment on 5 July 2001 while sitting in her car at work, grieving after reading about animal abuse, when a guide stepped back so that Quan Yin could come in and a rosy-lavender energy entered through her heart and crown at the same moment. A year earlier she had been given a vision in which she understood Quan Yin asking her to bring forth a rose or lavender energy to carry deeper compassion into the world.
Quan Yin herself is presented at length as the Bodhisattva of Compassion, known also as Kuan Yin, Quan'Am in Vietnam, Kannon in Japan and Kanin in Bali, depicted pouring the Water of Life from a small vase, holding a sheaf of ripe rice, and vowing to remain in the earthly realms until all other beings are liberated. Beyond the Flame itself the system carries the Lotus Jewels, energetic gifts seated at specific chakras, and two angelic caretakers, the Archeia Isariel who manifests in rose lavender and the Archangel Suriel who manifests in white and lavender.
What this attunement is intended to support:
- It is traditionally used to support a deeper capacity for compassion, both toward others and toward yourself.
- The Lotus Jewel of Karmic Release is described as seated in the heart space, working on karmic patterns the bearer is willing to let go of.
- The Lotus Jewels of Earth Healing sit in the grounding chakras at the soles of the feet and are used to send energy into the earth with each step.
- It offers a devotional connection to Quan Yin through her mantra as well as through symbol work.
- The two angelic caretakers may be called on to assist with sessions, and especially with distance work.
- It is used to support crystal and grid work through a dedicated symbol, and third eye sensitivity through another.
What you receive:
- The Lavender Flame attunement together with the Lotus Jewel of Karmic Release, which the manual says should be included in every attunement.
- The main Lavender Flame symbol plus the additional symbols for crystals and grids, for the third eye, and the one called Sacred Shield.
- The angelic caretaker symbols and flame colours, the Quan Yin mantra, and the distance sending technique.
Who this is for:
- Practitioners drawn to Quan Yin who want a defined system rather than devotion alone.
- Energy workers interested in karmic release work seated at the heart rather than at the mind.
- People who like a system that keeps growing, since the manual describes the Lotus Jewels as still coming through.
How it is used:
The energy can be called in several ways: simply saying "Lavender Flame on" and intending it to flow, reciting the Quan Yin mantra Namo Quan Shih Yin Pu'sa, drawing the main symbol in the air or on both hands, or asking Quan Yin and the angels aloud to make you a vessel. It is usually felt entering the crown and heart at once and then moving down the auxiliary channels to the palms.
For distance work the manual has you chant the mantra until the energy builds, then ask Quan Yin to fill you fully before sending. When passing a Lotus Jewel, the recipient pictures a lotus or calla lily extending from their heart space, the Jewel is placed at its centre, and the petals close around it as it seals.
