Flower Mound takes its name from a 12.5-acre hill that 19th-century settlers called 'The Flower Mound' because wildflowers covered it. The town has worked to preserve that native prairie remnant as its namesake landmark, so flowers sit at the center of local identity.
Rapid growth turned this rural farming area into one of the fastest-growing communities in North Texas, which suits a practice that fits around full schedules. Distance sessions let FloMo residents join from home, whichever side of the Denton and Tarrant county line they live on.
Flower Mound sits northwest of Dallas and straddles Denton and Tarrant counties, with Grapevine Lake as its close neighbor. DFW International Airport lies only minutes away, yet this affluent, master-planned suburb goes by its own names, FloMo and The Mound. Nineteenth-century settlers gave the town its name when they called one wildflower-covered, 12.5-acre hill 'The Flower Mound.' That hill is the prairie remnant the town protects, a living reminder of the farming area that growth has since reshaped. Rev. Michael Allison offers flower essences, aura sprays, and Reiki attunements to this wildflower-named town entirely by distance.
