Distance Reiki and flower essences for the Berkshires community of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, shipped from our Metro Detroit studio.
The largest city in the Berkshires and the county seat of Berkshire County, Pittsfield sits between the Taconic Range and the Berkshire Hills, with a cultural life shaped by Tanglewood, the Colonial Theatre, and a long tradition of summer retreats that draw both artists and visitors seeking calm.
The Berkshires run on a seasonal rhythm, busy in summer and quieter once the leaves fall. A session arranged at a distance fits whatever pace the week takes, and essences blended in Michigan ship to Berkshire County addresses through the year without depending on the season.
Pittsfield was incorporated as a town in 1761, named for William Pitt the Elder, and became a city in 1891. Herman Melville wrote most of Moby-Dick at Arrowhead, his farmhouse on Holmes Road, between 1850 and 1851. The property is now a museum operated by the Berkshire Historical Society. General Electric arrived in 1903 and employed thousands for most of the twentieth century. The Colonial Theatre, opened in 1903 and restored in 2006, is the last surviving theater in the Berkshires from that era. Onota Lake and Pontoosuc Lake sit within or at the edges of the city, and the Appalachian Trail crosses the county nearby. The Berkshire Museum, founded in 1903, mixes art, natural history, and science in one building. The 2020 census counted 42,142 people.
