Tamarac is a planned Broward County suburb in the Miami metro area, home to a diverse, all-ages city of roughly 72,000 people. It began in the 1960s as a maintenance-free active adult community. Its official motto, The City For Your Life!, speaks to a place meant for every stage of living.
Tamarac began as a maintenance-free community, built around easy and settled routines at home. Distance sessions fit that rhythm, because you can receive a Reiki attunement from your own chair. Residents of this Broward County city need no drive across the Miami metro area to take part.
The map of Tamarac tells its own story, because developer Ken Behring bought the land parcel by parcel. Today the oddly jagged borders of the city still trace exactly where each of those purchases ended. That piecemeal origin also explains the northern lakes and golf course layout, which still shapes how neighborhoods in Tamarac sit. Locals say Tam-a-rac in three clear beats, a small pronunciation nod that marks you as someone who knows the place. A distance session reaches a home beside the northern lakes as easily as one near the jagged edge of the border.
