Scorpio New Moon Sound Bath: Descent & Return | Madison Heights, MI

Madison Heights, MI
Scorpio New Moon Sound Bath, Descent and Return event flyer: white and lavender text over a purple and crimson nebula with a black new moon disc, Prismatic rainbow mandala logo and Scorpio glyph. Sunday November 8th, 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

The Scorpio New Moon Sound Bath runs on Sunday evening, November 8, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Crimson Commuter in Madison Heights. Eleven people attend. Seven lie down and four sit, and you pick which one you want when you book. Every place is $45.

This is a two hour listening session, not a class. Nobody asks you to speak, chant, move or perform anything. You choose a spot, you get comfortable, and Rev. Michael Allison plays the room live for the rest of the evening.

Why a Scorpio new moon, and why "Descent and Return"

A new moon is the dark point of the lunar month, the night the moon shows no lit face at all. In November that dark point falls in Scorpio, the sign most often associated with depth, privacy and the things people keep below the surface.

The evening is built in two halves to match that shape. The first hour is the descent. Tones drop low, the pace slows, and the room is asked to go quiet and stay there. The second hour is the return. Pitch climbs back, brighter instruments come in, and the room is brought up rather than left at the bottom.

That second half is the part people forget to plan for and the reason this session is not simply called a new moon sound bath. Going down is easy. Coming back up on purpose, with the group, is the half the format is named for.

The seven instruments and what each one does

Michael plays live. Nothing is a recording, and no two sessions repeat, because the order changes with the group in the room on the night.

  • Crystal singing bowls. These are the long, sustained tones most people picture when they hear the words "sound bath." Several bowls are played in overlapping layers, so one tone is still ringing when the next one starts. That overlap is what makes the sound feel continuous rather than like separate notes.
  • Native flutes. Breath driven melody played over the top of the bowls. The bowls hold a steady floor underneath and the flute carries the line that moves, which is what gives the first hour its sense of going somewhere downward.
  • Steel tongue drum. Bright, bell like notes struck rather than bowed. The drum marks the turn between the descent and the return, so if you are lying with your eyes closed, the drum is usually the first sign the evening has changed direction.
  • Quantum Balance Vortex Crystals. These are placed around the room rather than played. They are part of how the space is arranged before the first person walks in, and they stay where they are set for the whole session.
  • Pleiadian Cosmic Healing Discs. Set out alongside the crystals as part of the same arrangement. Like the crystals, they are part of the room rather than part of the playing.
  • Moon Reiki. Michael's moon Reiki practice is offered during the quiet stretch in the middle, between the descent and the return. It is offered to the room as a whole. You do not need to do anything to receive it and you are welcome to simply keep listening.
  • Aura cleansing sprays. Prismatic makes its own sprays, and a light pass goes through the room as the evening opens and again as it closes. If you would rather not be sprayed near, say so on arrival and Michael will work around you.

How the two hours run

Doors and settling come first. You arrive, choose your place from the eleven that are set out, put your things down and get comfortable. Arriving a few minutes before 6:30 gives you time to do that without rushing.

The descent follows, and it is the longest single stretch of the night. Bowls and flutes carry it, the lights stay low, and the room goes quiet enough that you will hear the building.

The middle is the still point. This is where moon Reiki is offered and where the least is happening. Some people are wide awake here and some people are not, and both are ordinary.

The return brings the steel tongue drum and the brighter bowls back in, and the pitch climbs. The last few minutes are deliberately unhurried so that nobody is tipped straight from lying flat into a parking lot. Expect to be a little slow leaving, and plan your evening with that in mind.

Two ways to attend, and why both exist

Seven places are set on the floor for people who want to lie flat for two hours. Four chairs are set behind them for people who would rather not get down on the floor at all.

The seated option is not a lesser ticket and it is not an afterthought. It costs the same $45, it is in the same room, and sound reaches a seated body exactly as it reaches a reclining one. People choose it because of a back, a hip, a knee, a pregnancy, a recent surgery, reflux, or simply because lying still on a floor for two hours is not restful for them.

If you are not sure which to book, the honest test is this. Pick the option that lets you stay still without fidgeting, because stillness is most of what the evening asks of you. A person who spends two hours quietly rearranging themselves on the floor gets less out of it than the same person in a chair.

Four chairs and seven floor places means eleven tickets in total, and when one option sells out the other may still be open. Book the one you actually want first rather than assuming.

What to wear and what to bring

  • Comfortable clothing. You will be still for a long stretch. Wear what you would wear to rest in, and skip anything with a waistband or a collar you will want to adjust.
  • A journal. People often want to write the moment the room comes back up, and what arrives in those first few minutes tends to go faster than it does an hour later at home. Bring something to write with as well.
  • A mat, blanket, cushion or pillow, if you want one. Two hours on a floor is easier with something under you, and you know your own back better than anybody else does. If you are taking a chair, a small cushion is worth the carry too.
  • Water. Ordinary sense after two quiet hours in a warm room.
  • Layers. A still body cools down. A cardigan or a wrap you can pull over yourself is the single most common thing people wish they had brought.

The add-on: Intuition Aura Spray

Intuition Aura Spray (4 oz.) can be added to your ticket at checkout for $37, charged in the same order, and collected on the night. It is one of Prismatic's own aura cleansing sprays and the same line used in the room during the session.

The add-on is entirely optional. The $45 ticket is the only required cost, and nothing is sold from the front of the room during the evening.

Who leads the evening

Rev. Michael Allison is a Reiki Master Teacher and a Certified Flower Essence Practitioner, and he founded Prismatic Flower Essences here in Madison Heights. Those are credential titles and nothing more.

A sound bath is a rest practice and a tradition. Nothing offered on the night is medical care, nothing here diagnoses or treats any condition, nothing here is a substitute for advice from your own doctor, and no outcome is promised. If you have a medical condition, a hearing condition, or you are pregnant, talk to your own clinician first and make your own call.

Finding Crimson Commuter

Crimson Commuter is at 28736 John R Road in Madison Heights, on the John R Road corridor that runs north and south through the city. Madison Heights is an Oakland County city inside Metro Detroit, roughly twelve miles north of downtown Detroit, which puts the venue within an easy drive of Royal Oak, Ferndale, Troy, Warren, Hazel Park and Sterling Heights.

Give yourself a few extra minutes at the end. Coming out of two quiet hours and straight into traffic is the one part of the night worth planning around.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a sound bath?

You lie down or sit, and somebody plays instruments in the room while you listen. There is nothing to learn, nothing to repeat and nothing you can get wrong. The word "bath" refers to being surrounded by sound, and there is no water involved.

What if I cannot lie down on the floor?

Book one of the four seated places. They exist for exactly this reason and they cost the same $45. A back, a hip, a knee, a pregnancy or a recent surgery are all ordinary reasons to take a chair, and nobody will ask you why.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing you can be still in for two hours, plus a layer you can pull over yourself. Rooms feel colder when you stop moving, and being cold is the most common reason somebody cannot settle.

What should I bring?

A journal and something to write with, because people often want to write the moment it ends. A mat, blanket or cushion if you want one under you. Water. Everything else is optional.

Is it loud?

No. The volume stays in a conversational range and the instruments are acoustic, not amplified. The bowls carry more than you expect at close range, so if you are sensitive to sound, take a place toward the back of the room and tell Michael on arrival.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

Please arrive before 6:30 so you are settled when the descent starts. Walking in partway through is disruptive in a room this quiet. If you need to leave before 8:30, take a seated place near the door and let Michael know when you arrive, so your exit is expected rather than a surprise.

Is it suitable if I am pregnant or have limited mobility?

The four seated places exist so that people who cannot lie flat can still attend. On pregnancy or any medical condition, please check with your own clinician and make your own decision. We are not qualified to make that call for you and we will not try.

How many people will be there?

Eleven, plus Michael. Seven lying down and four seated. The cap is the size of the room and the number of places that fit in it.

Where is it and how do I find it?

Crimson Commuter, 28736 John R Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071, on the John R Road corridor in Oakland County. It is about twelve miles north of downtown Detroit.

How much is a ticket, and can I get a refund?

Tickets are $45 per person for either the lying down or the seated option. Tickets for this event are not refundable, so please check the date against your calendar before you book.

What is the add-on?

Intuition Aura Spray (4 oz.) for $37, added to your ticket at checkout and charged in the same order. It is optional, and the $45 ticket is the only required cost.

Do I need any experience?

None at all. Most rooms contain several people attending their first sound bath, and there is nothing to prepare, practice or read beforehand.

Does this event make any health claims?

None. Prismatic Flower Essences offers sound baths as a rest practice and a tradition. Nothing here is medical advice, nothing here diagnoses or treats any condition, and no outcome is promised.

Reserve a lying down place or a seated place for the Scorpio New Moon Sound Bath on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
