Crystal Magic 101: Your First Step Into Sparkle with Michael Allison

Crystal Magic 101 is the class to take if you own a few stones and have never been certain what to do with them. Where beginners get stuck

The same four questions come up every time this class runs. How do you choose a stone from a table holding two hundred of them? What does cleansing actually mean, and how often? What is charging, and does it need moonlight? And why is one piece of quartz four dollars when the one beside it is forty? Michael works through each one in plain language, with the stones in your hands rather than on a slide.

The evening, in order

• Choosing. Reading a table by eye, by weight and by feel, and the moments when you should ignore all three and read the label instead.
• Cleansing. The common methods, which stones tolerate water and salt, and which ones those methods will quietly ruin.
• Charging and intention. What the practice involves, and how people keep it going after the class ends.
• Raw against polished. What tumbling changes and what it leaves alone, and why price tracks cut, clarity and scarcity.
• Living with them. Placement around a room, carrying one daily, and storing a growing collection so nothing chips or fades.

Bring a stone, or start from nothing

No kit is required and nothing is sold from the front of the room. If you already own crystals, bring one or two and ask about them directly, which is usually the fastest way to learn. If you own none, Crimson Commuter is a rock shop, so the teaching material is on the shelves around you.

Michael Allison holds certification as a Crystal Healer and as a Flower Essence Practitioner, and founded Prismatic Flower Essences here in Madison Heights.
